Other Conditions For Orthotic Consideration
Diabetes
Nerve problems of the feet often occur in diabetics this is known as peripheral neuropathy and results in numbness and loss of protective sensation of the feet. The inability to feel pain which although unpleasant is of course necessary to prevent injury. This loss of protective sensation may lead to injury and could progress to develop ulceration on the feet.
With our 2D pressure scanner we are able to identify potentially vulnerable areas of the feet, with a prescription orthotic we can address and accommodate the potential hot spots therefore reducing the risk or prevent the development of foot ulceration.
Rheumatoid Arthritis
Often leads to chronically painful feet, lumps and nodules can form on the bottom of the feet and may progress to ulceration; orthotics can reduce the pain and discomfort.
Osteoarthritis - degenerative joint disease and the most common form of arthritis to affect the feet.
The joints become stiff, painful and enlarged their range of motion will be reduced and jamming of the joints may occur, particularly in the 1st metatarsophalageal joint.
Our orthotics will help to support and comfort the feet.
